What is your magazine about?
Illustration, photography, street art, urban life in all forms...
Who’s behind the project? Tell us about the founders, their backgrounds and their motivations!
Two graphic designers and art directors (www.bang-bang.ws), one graphic editor, núria rius, an adverstiment responsable, Juan Anibal and the chief editor, Eva Villazala. We are young people interested in art and new forms of life in general.
How do you produce one issue? How much time do you spend on it? How big is your team?
We spend two weeks for design all the magazine, but a lot of months to define the magazine concept.
What have been the important steps in the life of your magazine?
Define all covers as illustration - we have collaborations of: Miss Van + Boris hoppek + Clayton Brothers + Rinzen Studio + Freaklüb + Lolo + Katika....
Which are the key incredients for the success of your magazine?
We talk with a near language and invite our readers to participate.
What are the difficulties you are confronted with? What would be “the” thing to help the magazine to improve?
In Barcelona there are too many free magazines and it’s difficult to has enough advertisement.
Where do you want the magazine to be in five years?
In the most important cities in the world.
Tell us about your audience! Who are the readers of your magazine?
People interested in urban life, the age is not important.
Is remaining independent important to you? Is it part of the strategy?
Yes
What’s your relationship with advertisement? Does it influence your content? Do you care about advertising-driven-editorials?
It influence our content, but the target it’s the same.
Do you think that magazine readers still need to watch TV?
TV is a absolet media, TV needs a new format of programs.
Which magazines did influence you most? What are you looking for in other magazines?
Vice, Matador, Dazed & Confused, Style...
What do you think of your issue 01, when you look back at it?
I don’t like it, as it has a lot of colour.
How many magazines do you buy / get / read each month? Do you qualify yourself a maniac?
Neo2, Vanidad, Enser, Ojo de Pez... I am a maniac, definitivamente!
