Colophon 2011

I travelled half way around the world exclusively for Colophon and it was gold. How can you beat meeting a range of networks and learning about the very industry you love and work in? Independent publishing is well and truly alive. Thanks Mike, Jeremy and Andrew for sharing your wealth of expertise.

Exclusive Interview

We collect DIRTY FOUND stuff: pervy Polaroids, sleazy birthday cards, raunchy to-do lists

What is your magazine about?
We collect DIRTY FOUND stuff: pervy Polaroids, sleazy birthday cards, raunchy to-do lists, nasty poetry on napkins, illustrations--anything that gives a glimpse into someone else\'s sex life. It\'s just like our sister, FOUND Magazine, only sleazier.

Who is behind the project? Tell us about the founders, their backgrounds and their motivations!
For the first couple of years of FOUND, people kept sending us these dirty pictures and we didn\'t have a great place to show\'em - we keep the pervy ones out of FOUND. But some of these images are so great we had to share \'em, so I started the Found Dirty Picture Club and sent these things out every week to our friends. Soon after, we put together the first issue of DIRTY FOUND; now we\'ve got two DIRTY FOUNDs out there, and hopefully many more in the future.

Where do you want the magazine to be in five years?
In the hands of every man and woman ... over the age of 18.

What\'s your relationship with advertisement? Does it influence your content? Do you care about advertising-driven-editorials?
DIRTY FOUND contains no advertisements.

Which is your relationship with your printer? Does he play a main role in your development?
We\'ve had wonderful relationships with our printer, Westcan. They\'ve been a huge help for DIRTY FOUND.

Which magazines did influence you most?
FOUND Magazine, Esopus, Sweet Action Magazine!
